Who is Sharing Mom
Dr. Josie Dovidio was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. However, when her parents, Italian immigrants, tired of the snow, they moved to Southern California to soak in the sunshine. Therefore, she completed high school at Birmingham High School in the San Fernando Valley. She graduated from Northwestern University Dental School, in 1997, with honors from the Academy of General Dentistry.
After graduation, she returned to Southern California to complete advanced training at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in North Hills, California, where she served as Chief Dental Resident.
Dr. Dovidio stays current with the advances in dentistry by teaching in different areas of dentistry and by completing several continuing education courses each year. Her teaching experience includes clinical instruction at the UCLA School of Dentistry and Pasadena City College’s Dental Hygiene Program.
Dr. Josie (as most patients call her) spends her spare time delighting in her 2 sons and husband Dominic. She also strongly believes in using her blessings to bless others. She is actively involved in church, charitable organizations and provides dental care to disadvantaged individuals at the Free Clinic of Simi Valley. In February 2010, she went to Uganda to provide charitable dentistry to orphans in remote areas of the African bush.
